If you get sick or hurt while you're there, you can get in-network care from doctors at Salus Clinics. And because they're a Value Choice Provider, you'll pay a $0 copay1 to see a Salus primary care doctor and have reduced copays when seeing a specialist. And you can get prescriptions filled at an in-network pharmacy.2 If it's a life-threatening or emergency situation, always go to the nearest emergency room.
How to Get Care
The table below shows how to get different types of care while visiting Puerto Rico. If you have a myBlue plan, it’s best to have at least one visit with your Florida primary care doctor (PCP) before you ask for a referral. This establishes you as their patient.

In-office visits |
Call your PCP or, if you're a Sanitas patient, call or message them using the Sanitas app. Let them know you're in Puerto Rico and need a referral to see a Salus doctor. Once your doctor sends a referral, contact Salus to schedule an appointment. |

Specialist visits |
If a Salus doctor recommends you see a specialist while you're in Puerto Rico, your Florida PCP must provide a referral. When you have the details from the Salus doctor, contact your PCP again and ask for another referral. Contact the specialist's office to schedule an appointment. |
