Community Health Symposium and Sapphire Awards

The annual Community Health Symposium and Sapphire Awards provides attendees the opportunity to convene, discuss critical health issues, and learn innovative strategies and solutions that improve the health of all Floridians. Symposium speakers include national, regional, and Florida-based experts on a variety of issues affecting community health.

The Sapphire Awards honor, through a competitive external review process, outstanding programs, organizations, and individuals whose services are distinguished by exemplary leadership, innovation, and documented impacts in improving health in local communities.

2026 Sapphire Award Recipients

Nine programs, organizations, and individuals received Sapphire Awards and shared $525,000 in award funds in 2026. Since 2005, a total of 166 Sapphire Awards totaling more than $8.5 million have been presented.

Individual Category: 
First Place – Dr Joseph Davis, Anchor House; Second Place -- Robert Ranieri, House of Hope Stuart; Third Place – Faye Johnson, Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition.

Organization Category: 
First Place – Homeless Empowerment Program; Second Place -- South Florida Wellness Network; Third Place -- Center for Progress and Excellence.

Program Category: 
First Place --  The Children’s Healing Institute – TEACUP Preemie & NICU Support Program; Second Place - Women’s Center of Jacksonville – S.A.F.E. Program; Third place -- Banyan Community Health – Obstetrics Program.
